La Villette was shot in the La Cité science museum in Paris. In the video we see, reflected on water, an image of the bridge that connects the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie building, designed by Adrian Fainsilber, and the adjacent La Géode film theatre. The framing turns the space between the two buildings into a stage, with a parallel world reflected on the rippling surface of the water. The video consists of a single shot taken with a static camera. The tension in the piece derives from the movement within the image, accentuated by the soundtrack.
